Yoga Alliance & Certification

What is Yoga Alliance, and is SKY Yoga and Meditation a Yoga Alliance Certified School?

Yoga Alliance International (YAI) is a globally recognised organisation that sets professional standards for Yoga Teacher Training and accredits schools that demonstrate quality, authenticity, and a strong lineage-based curriculum. SKY Yoga and Meditation is fully registered with Yoga Alliance International, and graduates of our 200-Hour YTT receive an internationally recognised certificate that allows them to teach worldwide.

Our curriculum follows YAI’s professional training standards, covering traditional Hatha Yoga, teaching methodology, philosophy, anatomy, and practicum. This ensures you leave with a solid foundation to teach confidently and safely in any studio or community setting.

To receive your Yoga Alliance International certification, you must complete all required contact hours, participate in the full course schedule, and successfully pass the final teaching practicum at the end of the training. All students are required to teach a complete class, demonstrating alignment knowledge, sequencing, cueing, and the ability to hold space safely.

Attendance is essential. Because YTT is an immersive program, students are expected to attend all classes unless there is a medical or personal emergency discussed with the team. Upon meeting all requirements, you will receive your YAI-recognised certificate and can register as a certified teacher directly through Yoga Alliance International’s portal.

Absolutely. Many students who join SKY’s 200-Hour YTT already hold a previous certification from another school but want a more authentic Hatha Yoga foundation, more structured teaching skills, or a deeper connection to traditional philosophy.

If you feel your previous training was too fast, too modern, too asana-focused, or lacked depth, SKY’s immersive eco-village setting and lineage-based curriculum will help you rebuild your foundation from the ground up. You can also use this training for continuing professional development under Yoga Alliance International’s CPD pathway.

About The Courses

What does a typical day in the training look like?

Your training day is structured to create the right rhythm for learning, self-inquiry, and steady practise. While you can see the full schedule on our website, here is an overview:

✔ Training begins at 6:30 AM every morning
✔ Days include morning asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, alignment labs, hands-on teaching methodology, and group practice
✔ Each day ends around 7:00 PM
✔ Saturdays finish earlier (around 4 PM)
✔ Sundays are your rest days to reset, integrate, explore Ubud, or enjoy quiet time in nature

The schedule supports a deep, immersive experience in our eco-village, allowing you to live and breathe your Yoga journey rather than simply “attending a course.”

SKY is rooted firmly in traditional Hatha Yoga—slow, steady, transformative, and deeply connected to classical yogic texts. You will learn foundational asana, pranayama (breathwork), meditation, bandhas, mudras, mantra, cleansing techniques (kriyas), and the philosophical pillars of Yoga.

This is not a “hybrid,” fast-paced, or fitness-based YTT.
It is a lineage-based training designed to help you understand Yoga as a holistic system beyond physical postures.

Students come from all over the world—Europe, Asia, Australia, the US—and from all backgrounds. Some join to become teachers, others for personal transformation, and many because they are seeking a more authentic, grounded approach to Yoga practice.

Common reasons students choose SKY include:

  • A desire to learn beyond the physical asana

  • Preference for small groups and personalised guidance

  • Wanting to live in an eco-village community

  • Seeking a reset or deeper life clarity

  • Wanting a training that honour Yoga’s roots

If you value depth, nature, community, and tradition, you will feel at home here.

Many YTTs in Bali are fast-paced, crowded, or commercialised. SKY is intentionally different. Our 200-Hour YTT offers:

  • Authentic Hatha Yoga lineage taught by experienced traditional teachers

  • A serene eco-village surrounded by bamboo, jungle, and nature

  • Small groups for personalised support

  • A curriculum that balances practice, philosophy, and self-inquiry

  • A strong community environment that continues beyond graduation

  • Immersive living with wholesome plant-based meals, peaceful surroundings, and space for reflection

  • Internationally recognised certification through Yoga Alliance International

Students often describe SKY as a place where Yoga is lived, not marketed.

Yoga Alliance & Certification

What if I’m already a Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Alliance?

If you hold a 200-Hour certification from any Yoga Alliance organisation, you are welcome to join SKY’s 300-Hour YTT. Your SKY certification will be recognised internationally under Yoga Alliance International, and you can use it to further your professional credentials, deepen your expertise, and advance through YAI’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) pathway.

Many teachers join SKY’s 300-Hour YTT because they want more depth, stronger teaching skills, and a return to traditional roots after completing a more modern or fast-paced training elsewhere.

Yes—under Yoga Alliance International’s CPD system.
The course contributes to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with YAI/YAIE, allowing you to upgrade your credentials and stay aligned with their standards of ongoing professional advancement.

Please note that “Continuing Education (CE)” under Yoga Alliance USA is a separate system. If your registration is with Yoga Alliance International, your SKY training fully supports your continuing development through YAI’s recognised CPD structure.

About Our Course

How is SKY’s 300-Hour YTT different from the 200-Hour YTT?

The 200-Hour YTT builds your foundation; the 300-Hour YTT elevates it. SKY’s advanced training focuses on:

  • More refined asana alignment and adjustments

  • Advanced pranayama, meditation, and energetic practices

  • Deeper classical philosophy (Hatha, Raja, Yogic psychology)

  • Teaching methodology for multi-level classes

  • Intelligent sequencing and hands-on cueing

  • Developing your voice as a teacher

It is designed to help you evolve from a good practitioner into a skillful, grounded, and confident teacher.

Most advanced YTTs in Bali focus heavily on vinyasa, flow-based sequencing, or modern hybrid styles. SKY’s 300-Hour YTT stays true to tradition, offering a rare deep dive into classical Hatha Yoga.

Our syllabus includes:

  • Advanced pranic practices

  • Subtle anatomy and yogic psychology

  • Scriptural study

  • Holistic teaching methodology

  • Immersion in an eco-village community

  • Practicum with real-time feedback

Students often describe the SKY syllabus as the missing bridge between modern Yoga teaching and Yoga’s original purpose.

You will study:

  • Advanced asana (alignment, modifications, injury-safe teaching)

  • Classical pranayama techniques

  • Meditation and concentration practices

  • Nada Yoga, mantra, philosophy, subtle anatomy

  • Yogic psychology and modern application

  • Sequencing for different levels

  • Advanced teaching skills and practicum

  • Ethics, communication, and holding space

By the end, you will have the skills to teach confidently, guide deeper practices, and understand Yoga as a complete system—not just movement.

Yes—many students join SKY’s 300-Hour program after completing their 200hr training at a different school. You do not need to have trained in Hatha Yoga specifically, although familiarity with foundational postures is helpful.

Our advanced YTT is designed to support teachers from all backgrounds who want to refine their teaching, deepen their understanding, and reconnect with the roots of traditional Yoga.

Just like our 200-Hour training, the 300-Hour YTT is grounded in authentic traditional Hatha Yoga. You will explore classical techniques, breathwork, energetics, meditation, and philosophy—all within a lineage-based framework that honours Yoga as a spiritual discipline, not just physical practice.

No. A 300-Hour YTT is not about mastering difficult postures; it’s about deepening your understanding of Yoga as a whole. We welcome students who can practise safely, are open to learning, and want to grow beyond physical achievement.

Our focus is on refinement, awareness, and teaching intelligence—not advanced acrobatics.

Yes, as long as your injury is manageable and you have medical clearance to participate. SKY’s approach is highly adaptive; we teach functional alignment and modifications so you can practise safely. Inform us in advance so we can support you throughout the course.

Your final assessment includes:

  • Teaching a complete class to your peers

  • Demonstrating alignment knowledge

  • Sequencing for different levels

  • Holding space with confidence

This practicum happens toward the end of the course, once you’ve built the skills you need. You will receive supportive feedback from our teachers to help you refine your teaching and grow professionally.
